In distance learning, it’s very difficult to think of ways to inspire children to be creative, when our only contact with them is through a computer screen. I’ve posted previously about ways to inspire Hands on Learning for Kids. However, in this post I want to list ways to inject creativity into your distance learning sessions.
Creativity in Distance Learning through Music
Dabbledoo Music have created so many creative ideas to engage children in Music during this pandemic. Think of those children in your class that ADORE singing, music and performing. This platform gives those children to express themselves musically at home easily.
Below is a simple tutorial on how to add their FREE music content to platforms like SeeSaw.
There are free options on their website to explore, however if you are interested in subscribing to their website, here is a link to an individual teacher subscription.
They have developed such a sense of community too, through their creative home festival ideas. Injecting creativity to distance learning far and near.
Creativity in Distance Learning through PE
Similar to Music, there are so many children that LIVE for P.E. lessons week in, week out! Allowing children to be creative through Physical Education is as important as Maths and English. Developing these type of skills are crucial for their physical development too.
Below are some fantastic places to find ideas for setting creative P.E. lessons through distance learning.

Creativity in Distance Learning through Art
The amount of children that look forward to art each week is huge. It’s so important to assign Art tasks to children, to keep their artistic skills sharp and developing for your future artists.
Below are some accounts that post super Art ideas that are easy for the children to follow.
Creativity through STEM
STEM is something that allows for so much creativity at home. It allows children to use their creativity to create models from recyclable, everyday materials. Below are some accounts that share the most simple STEM activities that you can assign to your class with ease.

Injecting some form of creativity into distance learning is so important for our children’s development. I aim to assign one creative task a day, so the the children that crave creativity have activities to engage with.
