From speaking to many of you on social media, it comes as no shock that many of us teachers are feeling burnt out, over worked and a sense of being under-supported.
Supporting teachers has always been the main motivation of my website and I have some similar posts here if you’d like to take a look.
- A bad lesson observation: advice for teachers
- Time Management and Prioritising Tips for Teachers
- Insecurities in the Classroom: Supporting Teachers.
After delving a little deeper into these areas of concern, some issues relating to boundaries with parents came up.
In this post, I wish to share a webinar in which I’ll be hosting with Rahoo in the coming weeks, addressing these areas. The aim of this webinar is to leave you feeling empowered to establish these boundaries with parents and make it work for you.
Perhaps you need some advice in dealing with challenging parents?
Maybe you need some pointers in limiting your access as a class teacher to the parents?
Perhaps you’d like to be aware of the external supports available with regards to AON to support you when talking to parents.
Whatever your need, find the details of this webinar here: https://rahoo.ie/events/webinar-monday-27th-march-2023-establishing-professional-relationships-with-parents-connections-boundaries-1-hour/
Also, if there’s a particular area that you’d like me to address in this webinar, please contact me on Instagram before March 27th and I’ll be sure to add in the material.
Why have I created this webinar?
Upon research that I have undertaken of what causes teacher’s stress, there was a huge response which indicated the impact of parental pressure. For example:
- “Lack of support, pressure, parents having the freedom to do and say what they want”.
- “Most of my stress comes from parents – especially since Covid. There is an expectation of 24/7 access”.
It was clear that teachers felt that there was a lack of professional boundaries and lack of support when challenging behaviours and additional needs were a factor.
Teachers are struggling to communicate effectively with parents and get the support they need.
What is included?
This is a 1-hour webinar to support participants to:
– Establish professional boundaries with parents throughout the year.
– Provide guidance/advice for dealing with challenging parents.
– Approach sensitive conversations with parents.
– Know where to seek support, guidance and advice.

As we all know, the parents are the primary educators of their children. This calls for us to prioritise a working relationship with both parties that works on your terms.
If this sounds like something you would like to establish these boundaries with the parents in your community, sign up and I look forward to sharing some advice on March 27th.
